May 19, 2016- "Teen with Autism Turns Love of Gardening, Nutrition into Growing Business"- Through the help of his parents, 13-year-old Adam Jandreau is the owner of a burgeoning businesses, Adam’s Lunch Box and Greenhouse. Adam, who has autism, was a picky eater, prompting his mother, Lisa, to pack him exorbitant lunches in the fear that if she packed a limited choice of foods, Adam would forego lunch altogether. Soon, Adam’s excessive lunches became famous among his peers and even school staff. About 4 years ago, Adam became interested in his own nutrition and the family decided to build a greenhouse to offer him the opportunity to plant and grow his own vegetables. Today, he sells his excess crops, including onions, spinach, lettuce, bok choy, tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers. To learn how to properly build and maintain a greenhouse, Adam watched online instructional videos on YouTube. Not only is Adam’s business growing, but he has grown an appreciation for healthy foods and proper nutrition.
